Ex ski club member Doris McEwan (on the left) was one of the top medal winners in the swimming meet last weekend at the Canada 55+ Senior Games. Doris, along with Egon Weberg, was one of the two originators of the snowshoe trail at Mac Mills.

N.B. From the above picture it looks like athletics runs in the Carlyle family Smile

It turns out the Triangle Ski Club had three participants in the Big Swim on Sunday.

Below are two of the three pictures in the Recorder and Times. The top photo shows Alan during his swim and the other photo six of the participants. Third from the left is long-time ski club member Peri Howlettt standing next to Alan . . . Marianne was cut off the picture.

Early Sunday morning two of our ski club members will be among a group meeting at Fulford Point.

Alan Medcalf (shown on the left of the photo below) and Marianne Carlyle will be participating in the seventh annual St. Lawrence River Big Swim. The nine kilometer swim starts at Fulford Point and finishes up at Blockhouse Island in Brockville.

Good luck Marianne and Alan.

Cool Summer Time (continued) Post Reply with Quote Edit/Delete Post Report Post to a Moderator       IP Information Go to the top of this page

I check the bulletin board frequently for spam and every time I log on there are two or three browsers on the forum. What are they looking at - it hasn't changed since the snow melted!!

Let's give everyone something to look at. What are you doing this gorgeous summer? I'm not very optimistic of anyone posting - but why not surprise me!!

Here's my input. In April I was swimming and sunning on this beach in Samana, Dominican Republic:

and in June was strolling along the Embankment at Westminster Bridge in London.

Yesterday I was gardening and Pete Meier cycled by towing his two beautiful children on his way to Browns Bay from Brockville - he must have been hot!

OK - your turn - how are you passing the time waiting for the snow to fly? Smile

The Directors were working on the 'new chalet' until late spring in order to meet the Ministry of Natural Resources requirements for the initial permit. They are now ready for a change in venue.
